Grammy & Grandad Day 5 - Easter Sunday - April 11

Their final day with us was Easter Sunday. We took advantage of being dressed up and took some photos.

Our family

This picture is very special to me because I asked my dad for a blessing and I found him like this. I am so grateful to have been raised by a man who honors the priesthood of God entrusted to him and has used it to bless me throughout my life. My dad is a righteous man.
Here are some random photos from their visit.

My mom loves the azaleas. (She loves all flowers.)

Giant iris

More flowers in my back yard. I can never remember what they're called.

Me and my dad. Together, we've lost over 160 pounds!

I always love having my parents visit, but I'm always so sad when they leave. (Ironic that I'm typing this while visiting them in July!)

Grammy & Grandad Day 4 - Soda City Market - April 10

Every Saturday, downtown Columbia is home to Soda City Market. There are so many things to see from vendors, to international cuisine, to a million dogs and lots of people.

You know you're in the South when you see a sign like this.

Food from Spain - paella.
Tasty choices!
Jalen loves a good burger!
In the South, "Bless Your Heart," is a veiled insult delivered with Southern charm. For me, it's a reminder of my great grandmother who always said this with much love.
I have wanted a sign like this for about five years. David bought it for me for my birthday. I love it!
My favorite vendor is the fresh flowers. We almost waited too long this time. We got one of the last boquets!
Another great day spent together.

Grammy & Grandad Day 3 - Lake Monticello - April 9

On Friday, we decided to take the kayaks to Lake Monticello. We had a great day on the lake.

I love my healthy body!

The whole family in our kayaks.
A couple of years ago, I wouldn't have been able to do this.
I love my kids and I really want us to establish traditions of health and activity.
Dad with a good book.
Jalen loves to kayak. He always has.
David and Baylie.
Having a healthy fueling on the water.
My mom is 77 years old and paddling a kayak. How awesome is that?!
Out around the island.
It's one of our favorite places and we were so glad to share it with Grammy & Granddad.
I have since heard that it is also a hot spot for alligators. Eek! I haven't been able to verify that though; I've only heard it through word of mouth.

Grammy & Grandad Day 2 - Eudora Farms Safari

This actually took place on April 8, but I am WAY behind on posting. And as usual, the photos uploading from Google Photos are in wonky order, but it's all the same place so I'm just going with it.

We went to Eudora Farms, which is an exotic animal park where the animals come right up to the car. It is a super fun place. This time, they had a special dinosaur exhibit, but it wasn't that impressive. The actual animals were way more interesting than the fake dinosaurs.

The funniest part of the trip was Grammy's run in with an ostrich.
