Get an Axe!

One of my greatest blessings since moving to Columbia has been the amazing women who have become my friends. They are all remarkable mothers, women of high standards, and I know they have my back at all times and in all things. I love them so much and I'm so glad I get to experience motherhood side by side with them. We represent four very different faiths: Catholic, Baptist, Mormon and Jew. I love our diversity and open acceptance. Our differences make me stronger.

We try to go out every month or so and do something fun. Usually it's just dinner, but this time we decided to throw axes! There's a new place in town - Craft Axe Throwing and we decided to check it out.
April, Esther, Me, Yasmin
We didn't even realize that we looked like we were on a double date. April and I were in flannel plaid.
Esther and Yasmin were in mauve.
Check out that form! I thought my shoulders would be sore the next day, but it was actually my abs that could feel it.
Yasmin and I both got bulls eyes!
And I won! Not that I'm competitive and care about winning...
I love any time I get to spend with the girls - and Yasmin's $4 Diet Coke, which blew her Jewish mind (ha!) - seriously, we almost had a scene.

Coffee House - Part Deux

Baylie is so brave and she's always willing to put herself out there. She decided to perform in another coffee house at her middle school. And as usual, she did great.
You can see her performance HERE.

Sweetheart Dance

This weekend was our third annual Sweetheart Dance. This year we got to take Bo Courtney with us since his mom, my sweet friend Esther, was out of town. We started our evening with homemade pizza.
The boys put on a bunch of cologne - despite my warnings - and we headed off to the dance. We took this picture and then they ditched me!
It was a neon dance and the kids all had a blast.
Jalen met up with his good buddy Hamilton Rutherford. They danced the night away.
Jalen loved the glow panda.
Baylie went as a volunteer and worked at the food table.
Her good friends Isabella Baltzeggar and Alexa Alsup also volunteered. I love these girls and their mothers.
It was a fun evening for all of us.
