Forever a Family

I love my religion. I love to learn all I can about other religions, but I am so happy with my own. My favorite thing about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the belief in forever families. We believe that the family unit can continue even after death. I think that is a beautiful concept and it got me through many a difficult time as a youth, and continues to do so today.

In order to be together forever, a family is "sealed" in a temple. David and I were married in a temple in Manti, Utah. We returned there to have Baylie sealed to us once her adoption was finalized. Today we went back again to have Jalen sealed to us. It's such a beautiful and emotional experience.

My parents and all my siblings and their spouses were there. My family is the most important thing in my life and it meant so much to have them all there. I'm glad they're willing to put up with my making them go to Manti three times now.

Even some of my dear friends made the trip. I am blessed to be surrounded by such loving friends and family.

To be honest, Jalen was a little underwhelmed by the whole thing. He actually slept through the ceremony. Such a cutie!

Based on this shot, I think he's wondering if he really wants to have this sister forever. (Of course he does!)

I love my kids (and my sweet husband).
