Final Choir Concert for 2022-23

Baylie has really enjoyed being in choir this year. Since her choir teacher - Frank Turner - and his wife Tania, who was her elementary choir teacher, are having a baby soon, the moved up the choir concert.

I think the choir dresses are pretty.

She will continue with choir next year (but not band). But we're all glad it's finished for the year!

Spring Break 2023

We had originally planned to go to Utah for Spring Break. We really wanted to see Grammy and Grandad, plus the twins were playing volleyball in Salt Lake so we'd get to see them play. But then Utah got slammed with late winter storms. We didn't mind the weather as much as we worried about how the weather would impact flights, especially since there were also storms in other parts of the country. We made the decision to just stay home. We hadn't really had a relaxing time at home in a while so we decided to just chill out and do local activities.

On Monday, we met our friends the Rosses at the zoo. I can never say enough how much we love our zoo.

Baylie hadn't seen the updated aquarium yet. It is so much nicer. These little green snakes are some of my favorites. I think they're so pretty.
We found Nemo!
There was a black Nemo!
Bi-racial Nemo??
I still remember when these little eel fish first joined the zoo. They were so tiny and there were so many of them.
Shark attack!
The jellyfish are a new addition and pretty cool.
We used to go to the zoo with the Rosses a lot when the kids were little so it was like coming full circle to be with them again. Noah is so tall!
I always like the Grizzlies.
The babboons aren't my favorites but they've been here forever.
The whole group.
Looking down on the crocodile. I'm not sure if it's the same one since it seems like the other one had a damaged tail.
The tiger is so beautiful. Often he's hiding, but he was out and active this day.
There was a baby koala. Can you see it??
Is this the daddy?
You're never too old for the carousel!
Traditional by the sign photo.

The giraffes - and Baylie pulling a weird face. Why?!
The rhinos! They can be a little rough and are sometime banged up.
Galapagos tortoises. They're so huge!
There were two baby merecats. So adorable!!
Sunbathing beauty.
I still remember when they first brought the kangaroos.

On Tuesday, Baylie had a sleepover at the Baileys so we took Jalen to see Creed III at the theater. We all loved it! It was $5 day at AMC. I forgot to take pictures, but earlier in the day we met RJ at Stars and Strikes to play. We also ran into the Brusins there. It was unlimited play day.
Prior to her sleepover, we got her hair partly done!
We had to wait and finish it the next day.
Thursday we met the seminary kids and did baptisms at the temple. I'm glad Baylie is having such a good seminary experience.

We were going to pick strawberries, but it started raining. We went to Chick-Fil-A for ice cream instead.

On Friday Baylie took her driver's permit test. She was really nervous. We waited for an hour. Actually, when we first got there, I realized we didn't have her birth certificate so we had to run back home. We ran into a couple of people we knew who were also there to take their test. Baylie passed!
Now she needs to drive for three months and then get registered for a driving course. David has to do the driving because I can't handle it. I've only driven with her a couple of blocks twice.
A friend had an extra magnet so we'll be putting that to good use!

I'm 55!

It's so weird to realize that my birthday now rounds up to 60! How did this happen? I still feel so young. It's hard to wrap my mind around.

I didn't want cake or to eat out. I chose to have pizza casserole at home and then to go axe throwing as a family. We all had so much fun! David and Baylie were awesome at it. Jalen and I struggled a little.

Jalen won the ring toss game over Baylie 8 to 5.
Our scores.
So far my 50's have been pretty great. I'm healthier than I was in my 30's and that's a blessing.
