Addams Family

Baylie decided to try a new adventure and auditon for the school musical - The Addams Family. She was very nervous and we were proud of her for going for it. She ended up in the role of an ancestor which gave her a great introduction into musical theater.

Taking a bow.
The Bailey girls were in the play with her. Carolyn was also an Ancestor while Kaitlyn and Natalie were in the orchestra.
Sister Bailey's brother and his wife came as did some of Carolyn's friends from the library.
The Choreys, Andersons, and Brusins came out to support.
Savannah Stevenson and Baylie with their social studies teacher Mr. Walker who also had a cameo as Cousin It.
A couple of sweet friends from seminary came to support their classmates even though they go to a different school.
What in the world?!
The cast members that were also in choir.
It was fun for me to run into some of my former students. They are growing up so fast!
One of Baylie's favorite teachers and a powerful mentor is Tania Turner, her elementary school choir teacher. Her husband, Frank, is Baylie's high school choir teacher. She loves him too. They are going to have a baby very soon.
The play took A LOT of time and work. She said she never wanted to do it again. But after the first performance, she was hooked and now says she can't wait to do it again.

And I just have to point out that Baylie was one of only two students that didn't thank their family in the bios. I'm not bitter...

Jalen at the Barbershop

Jalen's hair was getting a little fuzzy. For a while now I've wanted him to have a real barbershop experience. They recently opened a shop in Walmart so we decided to give it a try. We went after we had lunch at the Greek restaurant.

I think Jalen was concerned, but very excited. We were both impressed by the whole process. So much product and so many steps. It was awesome.

Before long, he looked like a new kid!

Happy kid!

Jalen and Dom

Before and after

It was a great cut and Jalen looked so very handsome. He loved his new look!

Zoo Day With the Elders and Goodbye Elder Evans

One day the elders called to see if we could go with them to the zoo on their P-day. We love Elders Evans and Allen so we were happy to show them our amazing zoo.

Gorilla
Rhino
Giraffes
Baby meerkat
Snapping turtle
Gabon viper
Jellyfish
They love to hear the history of this area and were excited to see the remains of the old pre-Civil War bridge.
I have no idea what they're pointing at.
Riding the tram.
Making their own music.
It was a really fun day and they said it was their best P-day ever.

Elder Evans had been in our ward for 10 months! Such a long time! We knew it had to be time for him to get transferred. It was also his birthday so we had a farewell/birthday bash. We made his favorites.

Shamrock Shakes
Æbleskiver
Elder Evans didn't want a cake; he wanted cookies. So we made a gigantic cookie cake.
He was happy about it!
We got him a palmetto tie and he was stoked. Sadly, he also had to throw up the Utes sign.
We will miss him. He's a great missionary and a lot of fun.
