Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years

I'm a bit behind so let's try to catch up.

The day before Thanksgiving, Riley came home from his mission! He served with honor and I looked forward to his emails each week. I especially love that he spoke Spanish on his mission.

For Thanksgiving, we had the Elders over. We kept social distance, but it was so nice to have them in our house again. We are trying to feed them every Friday. It was a pretty small group, but we still did traditional fixings. Grammy and Grandad were supposed to come, but stupid COVID kept them home. We miss them so much.
David made Gigi's banana pudding.
I made pumpkin cheesecake.
Baylie made lemon merengue.
I have no idea in what order we did all the below activities.

We did the Irmo Strong 5K by walking across the dam and back - a little more than three miles. It's so nice to be able to participate in these activities without it being too hard for me.
We saw the Two Claras - a take on the Nutcracker with a black and white Clara and hip hop music. We took Bo and Addie Courtney with it. We all loved it, especially the kids.
We attended the ward drive through Christmas activity.
We drove through and saw the Lights at Saluda Shoals. We always go on a week night before school gets out so there isn't a long line.
We made gingerbread houses. And as usual, it was a disaster. My gingerbread is never hard enough and the houses fall apart. But they always taste amazing. This year we invited the missionaries.
We celebrated Hanukkah with jelly filled donuts, latkes, and lighting the menorah.
I had a blast with the teacher dress up days. (I look forward to these all year!)

Having fun with David's don't feed the Pandas game.

New Year's Eve fun. We watched It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, which I remember watching every year as a kid. The next day we watched What's Up Doc. The kids loved both movies.
Snuggling under my new IES blanket.
They're growing up way too fast.
Apparently these are a big thing??
Overall, we had a very relaxing, family-focused holiday and it was just the break we all needed.
