Viva Las Vegas (June)

(Somehow this blog post never got posted back in June.)

As soon as school got out, we headed to Las Vegas to see Tiffani after her latest and most extensive surgery. This one was reconstruction. The flights were looking full so we decided to take an unusual route. David drove us to Charlotte and we flew to Newark on a redeye flight.

The flight was FREEZING. Now I always fly with a blanket. A jacket just isn't enough.
The airport had some comfy seats.
So the kids settled in for some sleep.
The airport was empty.
But it was worth it. We caught an early flight to Vegas and were able to get on.
We were happy to make it. I love my sister and wish we lived closer to each other.
Jalen and Baylie love to spend time with their cousins. The girls made beaded bracelets and now Baylie is hooked.
Wall to wall sleeping arrangements.
It's a nice bonus that they have a swimming pool.
Jalen loves playing with Titan. Titan actually got his teeth stuck in this basketball.
The girls tried to make bath bombs, but the operative word ended up being bomb.
We headed to the strip for some fun. (Look at my kids holding hands.©) My kids were a little overwhelmed by the casino vibe.
Vegas is such a fascinating place. While there is lots of crime and sin, there are also a lot of unique activities. We started at Flyover Vegas where you can choose between different virtual reality tours. It's a 4-D experience and is remarkable. We chose Iceland and it was incredible.
New York, New York, Vegas style

I'm so impressive.

So is Jalen.
We went to the World of Coke and tried different kinds of Coke from all over the world. It was a fun taste test. Some were great and some were gross.
Love my kids.
Next we went to the paradox museum. It was quirky and fun.
We finished up with gelatto!
At some point we went and got pedicures. This should really be a standard part of my life. I love a good pedicure.
The girls decided to have a cupcake war.
They were very creative.
We were also able to do baptisms at the Las Vegas temple. Cameron serves there as part of his mission so he was able to do the baptizing. It was wonderful to be there together.
It was ridiculously hot.
My kids always love going to Las Vegas and spending time with their cousins and the "fun mom" - Aunt Tiffani. It was good for my heart to be with Tiff and take her to some of her doctor's appointments. I wish I could do that for her more often. She has been so faithful and such an incredible example to me as she has dealt with cancer over this past year. I love her and am grateful Heavenly Father blessed me to have her as my sister.
