Hopefully you had a wonderful holiday. We had a great visit with David's brother's family in Oregon. For some reason, I thought it would be cold in Oregon, but it was much warmer than Utah. Utah has been freezing with snow. It's great!
We are determined to adopt again this year, hopefully soon. We want to finalize no later than August just in case we have to move for David to continue schooling. The only problem is, there's no money! We checked into getting a home equity line of credit. We bought our home in 2002 for $97,900. Seven years later, Chase estimates our home value at $90,000...what the heck! Of course, Harris County estimates our home value much higher so they can charge us more for taxes. I guess next we'll check into refinancing. Sure wish we were sitcom stars or professional athletes or something.
I was very excited to get Adobe Photoshop for Christmas (thanks, hubby). Once I figure it out, I'll share my awesome skills with you. For now, we still have internet issues and I can't post pictures at all. Our internet provider has finally admitted there is a problem on their side, so hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Hey Kristen, your mom sent us your blog address in her Christmas letter - cute site!
I hear your adoption woes! It is SO frustrating! We are currently doing foster care because we couldn't afford private agencies We have a 3 year old boy and a 20mo. old girl right now. They are so cute and it has been fun and really hard having them in our home. We are on the foster-to-adopt program and hope one of the cases we get will lead to another adoption. I just thought I'd throw that out there in case it could be an option for you guys. But beware - it will be a VERY emotional ride!

Hey there friend!! Merry late Christmas and a happy New Year!! We got your Christmas card and it is still up on my card holder tree thingy cause seeing it makes me smile. I miss you so much and feel for your pain with the money thing. Things are tight with us too and now even tighter maybe sharing our mishaps yesterday might make you feel better. So we spent the morning in the Riverton ER cause Eric's usual bloody nose lasted for 2 hours and then later on that afternoon Eric (sleepy and disoriented I'm sure) broke our neighbors miter saw which costs a few hundred to replace and I'm sure his hospital bill will be close to the same. :) Oh the joys of adulthood huh??
I was beside myself wondering what we were going to do cause we don't have a money tree growing in the backyard and we have no hope at being rich and famous, but then I opened up the January 2010 Ensign to Elder Holland's article called " The best is yet to be" and it helped me to put things into perspective to realize like he said that faith points to the future and that Heavenly Father knows what we are going through and will help us through anything. He may not send us thousands of dollars to pay a bill or to front for a much needed adoption, but he will somehow move mountains and bring people into our lives who can or put us in peoples lives to make a difference for. You and your cute little family have changed my life for the better and Eric and I love you so much and will continue to pray for you. I miss you Kristin Batchelor and as soon as I can find my matching socks I'm commin down to bug you!
