Summer Dollar Movies

We can't usually afford to go to the movies, so we love the summer dollar movie program. Each week, local theaters offer $1 movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. There are two movies each week, both showing on both days. The movies are not new releases, but they're always G/PG and sometimes they're fairly new. Next week is the last week for this summer.

Cinemark and Regal Theaters both have this program. I'm not sure if other movie chains do it or not. Our favorite place to go is the Regal Columbiana. They have separate theaters for preschool groups and families. If the theater fills up, they open another. For the Lego Movie, they had to open 4 or 5. Plus, if you belong to the Regal Crown Club (which I do), the dollar movies still count for credit, so we've earned free popcorn, drinks and movies just by going to the dollar shows.
A short walk from the theater is a public splash pad and playground. They are both very small, but it's amazing how much fun kids can have with a little bit of water.
I can't believe our summer is almost over!
