Happy Easter!

In order to keep the Sabbath Easter celebration focused around Christ, we decided to do the secular celebration on Saturday. That meant we needed to color our eggs on Friday. David and Baylie were excited to start coloring eggs. We always color a dozen each. (The coloring is fun, but trying to use four dozen boiled eggs before they go bad can be a challenge.)
Jalen was upset that we made him turn off the t.v. and iPad so he chose to sit outside and pout.
And scowl.
We told him that if he didn't help color the eggs, he wouldn't be getting an Easter basket. He decided to go ahead and color. Amazing what a little bribery will do.
Happy decorators.
Baylie's eggs.
Jalen's eggs.
My eggs. (No amount of Photoshopping can fix that hairdo.)
As usual, David was the last one finished. He takes his egg decorating very seriously.
The kids were super excited to find their Easter baskets filled on Saturday morning. David and I were thrilled they let us sleep until 8 a.m.
Diligently seeking eggs.
Egg with a slug. Yuck.
We also had our Easter feast.
It was way too much food for four people, but it was fun just being our little family.
In order to remember the real reason for Easter, we have been reading each night about the last week of Christ's life. Our sweet friend, Wendy Wilcox wrote the book. There is way more in the book than we could possibly do, so we look forward to using it year after year.
Another great way to remember Christ this Easter is by watching the beautiful videos put out by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. THIS one is new for this year.
