Catch Up!

I am way behind on blogging about our family activities. So here's a crash course on what's been happening at the Batchelor Pad.

We were all a little sad when family left after Baylie's baptism. We missed them so much! Fortunately, it was Spring Break. David's Spring Break had already passed and we didn't have a lot of money to go anywhere, so we decided to do something locally. We booked a hotel room in Rock Hill and joined David when he went to school on Thursday. We joined him for lunch and then the kids and I headed to a hotel.

They got to watch t.v. in bed...
...and go swimming...
...and have unlimited iPad time in our mini suite, so they were thrilled.
It was low key, but really fun. It was a nice little break for all of us.
I was able to join Jalen for his kindergarten field trip. I love that I'm able to do these things with my kids. I love being a mom and I love being a stay at home mom that can spend so much time at school with my kids. I took a ton of pictures, but most of them have his classmates in them and I don't have permission to post their pictures.
Tiger on the prowl.
Gorilla making his bed with straw.
Jalen with a wallaby.
One of our favorite activities every year is strawberry picking. I love everything about it (except for maybe the price). The fields smell good, the kids love picking, the strawberries are huge and delicious.
This year we took Charlie and Jensen Stone with us. I watch them every day after school. It's been so much fun having friends to play with every day.
 Best friends and berries.
Cool boys and berries.
The buckets weren't quite as full by the time we got home.

I had my annual "Mom's Day Off." This year was pretty low-key, but exactly what I needed. It was completely lazy and relaxing. I used some birthday money and started off with a massage at a spa.
I have had pain in my left shoulder blade for months and in my lower back for weeks. The massage was amazing and I woke up the next morning pain free for the first time in a very long time. I wish I could get a massage every week!
Next I used a Fandango Groupon and went to a movie. I saw "Allegiant," which seemed to be pretty different from the book it's based on (and they shouldn't have divided the book into two movies), but I still liked the movie. I was a little disappointed that there was another couple there so I didn't have the theater all to myself. I've been spoiled in years past.
When the movie was over, I decided to see another one! I went to see "Batman v Superman" and this time I did have the theater all to myself. And I still had popcorn left over from the first movie. (Tuesdays is half-price popcorn at Regal.) The movie was okay, but not my favorite, although I thought Wonder Woman was pretty cool. I'm going to have a hard time watching Ben Affleck from now on because his personal life is so disappointing to me.
I didn't take pictures of the presents David and the kids got me (basically everything on my list - an ironing board, an immersion blender, a candle and some lotions), but my sister, Tiffani, sent me these beautiful flowers. I love her.
Today the lilies opened. Even prettier!
I can't believe I'm 48. Seriously, I have no idea how this has happened. I'm almost half a century old. I'm old! I don't feel old. It's a bit of a crisis.

And of course, in the middle of all of the above, we moved!

Old house.
New house.
One of my favorite things about the new house is a big magnolia tree with humongous blooms.
And now a few candids to wrap up.

We're babysitting our new landlords' dog for a week. The kids love it when we do this. It works for me too because the kids get an animal fix and I don't have to pay for a pet - although David asked if he could have dog.
Jalen wears gloves all the time. I think it's a superhero thing. He even sleeps in them sometimes.
