After Jalen had his birthday quest to find snow, Baylie decided she wanted to go on a trip for her birthday as well. She originally wanted to go to the beach, but we decided it was too cold for that. I saw some pictures a friend posted of the aquarium in Atlanta and it looked amazing so that's where we headed.
We stayed in the Marriott Atlanta Marquis. It's obvious that at one time, this hotel was amazing. It's still very impressive, but the carpets are dirty and it all needs a little freshening up. It's also in a part of town that isn't as trendy as it once was. Still, it's pretty cool. We got in really late and parking was a nightmare, but the front desk staff was excellent.
Looking down to the pools at the subterranean level.
This is looking up into the atrium which at 470 feet was the largest in the world upon its completion in 1985. It has been featured in some of the Hunger Games movies and will be in the new Disney movie about Loki.
Looking down.We stayed on the 36th floor and the elevator ride was pretty fun.
We woke up early to head to the aquarium. The Olympic Park is closed because of COVID, but at least we got to glance at it.
We were glad we had purchased our aquarium tickets in advance because it was sold out when we got there.
The Aquarium was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted by a huge aquarium of jelly fish.
There were SO MANY sharks. The hammerheads were cool.
We walked through a tunnel where we were surrounded by sea life. So amazing!
There were even whale sharks! They were enormous and it was incredible to think they could even be in an aquarium.
The floor to ceiling aquariums were mesmerizing.
This dude was creepy.
Sea dragon (didn't even know there was such a thing!)
Puffins and penguins
Belugas!!
Dolphin show
We got to touch manta rays.
The Coke Factory was right next to the Aquarium which turned out to be very convenient. Baylie and I went to the Coke Factory while the boys went to Lego Adventureland.
To start our tour, we got to choose a can of Coke.
They had coke bottles decorated for all different parts of the world.
Tons of memorabilia.
The vault (fake one)
The real one.
More memorabilia. It's incredible how much there is!
From Argentina.
Olympic Pins
Bottles
How it is produced in the factory.
One of our favorite parts was trying Coke products from around the world. I liked the one from Costa Rica and Zimbabwe. I didn't like the one from Italy. The area with scents was also really cool.
The Coke polar bear was there. We didn't wait in line to see him :).
They even had a Coke bush.
Baylie and I went back to the hotel and she crashed with her new baby beluga.

They did have a little trouble making it back to the hotel.
We slept in the next morning and then headed home. It was a quick trip, but we had a blast.
