I just finished watching Chris Rock's documentary on black hair. It was fascinating. (Warning, there is some language and conversation that may be offensive to some.) I have learned a lot about black hair since adopting Baylie, but this movie was really eye opening. I was sad to see that poor people in India give up their hair that is later purchased for thousands of dollars in the U.S. One thing's for sure, I won't be relaxing Baylie's hair (painful and dangerous) or paying for a weave. If she decides to do that, it will be when she's able to pay for it herself!

I watched that and had the same opinions. I only thought I had learned a lot about my daughter's hair before watching it.
I absolutely LOVE Baylie's hair. I would kill for her fro. =) Hopefully she feels the same way in 15 years.
I just got this movie from Redbox last night. It's funny that you wrote about it.
Also, I'm doing a fun give away if you're interested.
