Twenty Years Together

Twenty years ago on June 15th at 10:00 in the morning, David and I got married in the tower room of the Manti, Utah temple. He was 21 and I was 34. It was a perfect day.
Since then, things have not always gone as planned. There have been good times and bad times. We have had a lot of adventures. We have been through some really hard things.
Here are some before and afters 20 years in the making.
Personally, I think we're both better looking than when we got married. My dress definitely fits better.
Without a doubt, the best thing we have done is adopt Baylie and Jalen. We love them so much.
Our 20th anniversary did not go how I thought it would. I have no idea what the next 20 years have in store (I'll be 74!). But whatever we do, it will be with the best intentions for these two.

End of Year Events

Every year, I decorate the care for the last day of school. I've used the same markers for nine years! This year I decorated and then the kids didn't even end up riding in my car!

On the last day of school, I volunteered at Baylie's field day. It was fun to be at the school again.
With Ava.
Baylie with her buddies.
Baylie with me!
Tug of War
Water balloon toss with Savannah Stevens.

We went with the Alsups for lunch to celebrate school being over for the summer. I'm so grateful for good friends.
While we were there, Jalen went swimming with Sam.
On another day, we went to a friend of David's and there was more swimming. I loved this pool because you could play or run laps.
We do not go for enough walks in our neighborhood, but when we go, we like to explore this empty lot where they demolished a house. It's a fun place for Tashi to sniff around.

We went and saw Top Gun: Maverick with the alsups. It was AWESOME. We all loved it.
I always freeze in the theater so I bring a blanket and fuzzy socks.
The boys went on a 3-day campout to North Carolina, but they didn't take any pictures. Meanwhile, Baylie and I had a hair day. I've been doing her hair lately. It's cheaper and she thinks I pull her hair less than the stylist we've been using.

I parted all the hair one night.
The next day we continued. I sprayed each section with coconut oil and then straightened it.
Then I put on edge gel and worked in the synthetic hair. I learned a new process with elastic bands and it was so much easier.
Then I braided it.
I was pretty proud of myself!
Half way there!
Finished!
We decided to add some beads. I love them.
Even though I'm not very good at parting and it takes me forever, I do enjoy doing Baylie's hair.

We finally found time to go and send in for the kids passports. We had an appointment, but when we got there, they weren't doing passports so we had to go somewhere else. It was crazy expensive! But it will be good to have them.

One of my favorite things is listening to Jalen play.
