Homesick

I love living in South Carolina. I could live here forever, except for one thing - I miss my family! I think that I could live far away from them, but then I go for a visit and realize how much I miss being around my family. Baylie and Jalen also love being around their grandparents and cousins. We recently took a quick trip to Utah for a baptism.

We cheered the Cougars in their Sweet Sixteen game, which unfortunately they lost.

We went to the dinosaur museum with Grammy, Aunt Shanelle, Camden and Asher.

Asher has been Baylie's best friend all her life (they are a month to the day apart).

Jalen didn't like the museum so much.

Baylie loved digging for dinosaurs in the mud.

Jalen wasn't having a very good time.

Asher, Baylie and Grammy tried to avoid a great big shark.

Baylie swept for bones in the sand box.

Jalen finally smiled when we stopped for lunch.

Outside it was snowing and Baylie tried to catch some snowflakes.

Jalen snuggled in with Grandad for a story.

Jalen tried to catch a ride with Baylie,

but opted for his own sweet ride.

The flight home was much smoother than last time. Baylie got her own suitcase, which she loved. I thought she'd have separation anxiety when she had to let go of it through security, but she threw the bag up on the belt like a pro.

It was great to get back home to South Carolina, but I'm glad we'll be seeing family again in just a short month when there are two more baptisms.

(I've caught myself thinking lately about these three baptisms. I was pregnant at the same time as my sister and sisters in law. Had I not miscarried, we would be having a child baptized now as well. It doesn't make me sad anymore, but it has caused pause for thought.)
