Home Study

Yesterday we had our latest home study. I think that's our fifth one so far. A home study is an interesting thing. Someone who barely knows you comes in to your house and asks you personal questions to determine if you'll be a fit parent. I always find it ironic that to adopt you have to be inspected, investigated, take classes, get physicals and prove you're gainfully employed, but to have a biological baby, you just have to get pregnant.

Even the term "home study" is interesting. It's not really something you can study for and sometimes they don't even look too closely at the home. Sometimes we scrub everything from top to bottom and then they don't look at the house much at all. At least everything get's cleaned! So far we've passed them all, so I guess that's a good thing.

Now we're just back in waiting mode. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and a month or so from now we'll finally be parents!
