PACE Academy Open House

After so much time waiting, it is almost time for Jalen to start at his new school - PACE Academy. On Thursday, they had an open house.

There were so many people there. Jalen was completely overwhelmed. We wore masks, which is good since we now know I have COVID.

This is Jalen's classroom. I love how wide open and bright it is. One wall is huge windows. His teacher seems so very nice. Jalen is going to have a hard time getting used to anyone besides Mrs. Moody, but I think after a few weeks he'll be fine.

He loved these chairs in the lobby.

His favorite room was the special education room. It had great mood lighting and ambiance. He loved the gaming chairs. I think he has a secret hope that means he'll get to play video games. 

Jalen was supposed to start school on Monday. But because I have COVID, he now has to quarantine and won't be able to start until the 16th. He isn't sad about that at all, but I am devastated. I wanted him to start with his classmates and I had hoped to have a week to bond with Baylie.

I had planned this past week to go to movies, the zoo and kayak so basically our summer is not wrapping up the way I had planned.

Overall though, I'm grateful that this is just a temporary set back.
