It's hard to believe we have a sophomore, but here she is! She wanted short green extensions for school.
Jalen is being homeschooled again so there was no backpack!
Where has the time gone?!
Jalen and I decided to start each day with a walk in Saluda Shoals Park. The park us just down the road and is a lovely place. The physical activity is a great way to get Jalen settled for school and Tashi loves it too. We've all loved it.Jalen loves doing science experiments, especially if they involve food. One of our early experiments was s'more cupcakes to show mechanical and electrical sources of energy.
Jalen says he likes actual s'mores better.
Then we learned about solar energy. We made a tinfoil solar oven and we covered black construction paper with items and sunscreen to see how the sun impacted the paper.
Then we saw some visual examples of transfer of motion. We made videos in slow motion, but for some reason the blog changes them to regular speed.
We are doing a co-op with the Baileys and we did one on cultural diversity. I had so much fun spearheading it. We had all kinds of food too, but I forgot to take pictures of that stuff.
We have good days and harder days at homeschool, but overall it's still been a great thing. We got activity passes for IHS sports so we plan to go to more games this year.
