Sunday wasn't just Jalen's ordination, it was also Grammy's 80th birthday! We were so glad to spend this special day with her. She requested cinnamon rolls and Tin Roof Sundae.
All of her descendants sent in a favorite memory or something they loved about her. I put them into a book to give her for her birthday. It was Tiffani's idea. Grammy loved it so much - she cried before she even read the first page
We went to sacrament meeting and afterwards some of us went to Saluda Shoals. (David and Jalen stayed at church.)
It was a beautiful day and I wanted Grammy and Grandad to see this beautiful place right by our house.
Later the kids taught Grandad how to play the Spot It NFL game he got for Christmas and they also taught him how to play Splendor.
Meanwhile, Grammy bonded with Spike and tried out my neck massager. We had a wonderful visit. We hated to have them go home on Tuesday, but the weather and flights made that necessary. We drove back to Charlotte so they could fly home through Houston because of storms in Chicago. (That was a good move since the Chicago flight ended up getting cancelled.) Their return trip went smoothly and they were back in Salt Lake before noon.
We are glad they have their flight benefits back and hope to see them more often!
