The kids and I always try to make it to a BYU game in Provo each fall. This year we couldn't get away until November. BYU was undefeated and ranked #6 in the country. We were excited to see them play, plus it was the weekend after Grandad's birthday.
We love the Columbia airport. It's small and cute. You can even sit in your car and wait for passengers to come out. Nobody tells you to move along. It was all decorated for Christmas.
We were happily surprised to see that Tabithat Mills, a friend from church, was on our flight. The seat next to me was open so she moved up by me. She was on her way to Hawaii. It was so fun chatting with her.
We had enough time during our Chicago layover to buy Garrett's popcorn. So dang yummy!
I always love seeing the Utah mountains from the air.We had another great surprise when we got off our plane and Jonny was waiting to get on it! What a small world! He was on his way to Southern Virginia for a lacrosse recruiting trip. He had some time before his flight so we hung out and waited with him. It was only his second time on an airplane so he was a little nervous.
River vibes at the airport.
For Grandad's 80th birthday, I had collected memories from people who he had influenced. It turned into a really cool thing. He was emotional reading it. He is such a good man and has blessed so many people. (The patch is because he has Bell's Palsy.)
Tiff and I also got him a John Wayne clock at an antique store in Cortez.
I love my dad.
Wendee Wilcox Rosborough (Brad Wilcox's daughter) cut my hair while we were in Utah. I think it was the first time in over 30 years that someone besides Tiffani cut it for me. She's a sweet girl and a good friend. It snowed a little while we were there and the kids were very excited about it.
Catching snowflakes.
Some young men in the area put up BYU flags before every home game. (And U.S. flags on national holidays.)
Love this view.
And this view.
There are few things I like more than being at a BYU game with my family.

Not every team has fire dancing.
Sadly, BYU suffered their first loss - to Kansas. It was so sad. They went on to lose another game to Arizona State and dropped out of playoff contention. They did finish the season - a stellar season - with a convincing win against Colorado in the Alamo Bowl.
Amazingly we made all our flights to Utah and back.
While we were gone, David went to Fresno to see his music performed by a college choir. And in a crazy coincidence, he ended up in my cousin Misty's ward! She's in the same ward as Kirstina Collins who directs the choir that performed David's music. Misty's daughter sang in church.
We all had quick weekend trips and were happy to be back home together again.
