David has now only lived without me five more years than he's lived with me - and he doesn't remember much about those first five years.

We took a few hours alone without the kids and headed to Soda City Market, a street market in downtown Columbia. We'd never been there before. It was a fun way to spend the day.

I want to save up and get one of these. It would look great in our living room.
This little guy was stylin'.
This man makes his own instruments and they were super cool.
Columbia is called Soda City because people abbreviate the name to "Cola."
When I lived in Mexico, I loved eating a mango on a stick. It had been years since I had seen one. At $4, it was the perfect lunch.
David wanted paella, but it was $15, so he passed.
He settled for a $10 gyro instead.
The fresh flowers were beautiful and only $10 for a small bunch or $15 for a large.
We enjoyed the market and will go back with the kids.

On the way home, we stopped to buy hair for Baylie. David had never been inside one of these places so he was overwhelmed. He had just read a book (The Sun Is Also a Star) that talks about them, so it was pretty enlightening for him.
It seems hard to believe that we have been together for 17 years. There have been good times and a few too many hard times, but I am grateful for the path we've walked together.
