The week before school got out, I had the chance to join Jalen for his field trip to Charleston. It was a fun day.
We had to get up super early and be on the bus by 6:00 a.m.!
I was glad to see our charter company supported teachers. That's been a hot topic in SC lately.
Jalen's friend, Rey, was also under my care, which was perfect since he speaks Spanish. Rey is from Honduras. Our day started at the aquarium. We had never been there, but it was pretty cool.
We also spent the day with Ryan Jensen and his mom, Kristin.
Jalen really wanted to touch a sting ray, but he couldn't get up the courage. Ryan was finally able to convince him!
I pet a shark! After the aquarium, we went to the battery.
Fancy houses on the water.
Famous Charleston bridge landmark.
Next, we took a ferry to Fort Sumter.
The water was FULL of jellyfish.
They looked like giant hamburgers.
View of Fort Sumter.
That's a big cannonball!
Checking out the cannon.
Firing hole.
Back to the boat!
After Ft. Sumter we went back to the buses and headed home. We got back at about 7:30. It was a long, but super fun day. I loved spending the day with just me and J.
