5th Grade Celebration

This was Baylie's last year in elementary school. I have tried to absorb every moment and not let time pass us by, but even so, it has gone by way too fast. There are many days when I wish I could go back for a moment.

We bought her a beautiful new dress for graduation (thank you, Amazon). It was perfect for her.
We took lots of pictures of her with friends and teachers.
Mrs. Turner - Music
Mrs. Buff - 4th & 5th grade ELA & Social Studies
Mrs. Patton (Mayson) - 4th grade Math & Science
The students line the hallways and cheer for the 5th graders as they walk from their classroom to the auditorium.
5th grade teachers - Buff, Morvay, McKay, Metz, and Sorrell
The grand entrance.
The chorus sang for the last time.
Receiving her certificate.
Baylie stood up several times for different recognitions: All a honor roll (she made the honor roll every semester possible in elementary school), I Am Gold, WBEE and yearbook, newspaper staff, safety patrol, and probably something else I can't think of.
We are so proud of her and the young woman she is. She is kind and good.
With Alexa Alsup.
BFFs (moms and daughters).
Daddy's girl.
With Isabella Baltzegar.
More mom and daughter BFFs.
Forcing the brothers to take a picture.
What the brothers really wanted to do.

After the celebration, the 5th graders got to have a big swim party. I didn't go, so I only have one picture that a kind friend shared with me.
Next year, Baylie will be in Middle School. I can't really think about it. I feel like I'm throwing her to the wolves and I'm sad we won't be at the same school.

Baylie and David wrote a song to help share the feelings she has about leaving elementary school and moving on to middle school. It's pretty tender. It can be viewed here.
