This morning, Grandad got up early to take Jalen and Nixon fishing. I'm not sure he knew what he was in for. He said he had never gained so much knowledge in such a short amount of time (ha!).
They loaded up with beverages and snacks. (Jalen loves visiting Grammy and Grandad because he gets soda and ice cream.)Who's watching the poles??
Going for a swim. Dad says they spent a lot of time throwing rocks in the water.
Jalen's big catch! It was a small mouth bass. Grandad spent a lot of time baiting hooks.
Despite the swimming and rock throwing, the boys reeled in two big fish. (Grandad caught them, but let the boys reel them in.)
"Rocking" their babies. Jalen named his Matt and didn't want to eat it.
Grandad taught the boys how to gut and bag their fish. They were fascinated by touching the heart, eyeballs, and other organs. Gross!
Meanwhile, in Southern Utah, the 12-year-olds were still having a blast. They visited Bryce City. They got matching t-shirts.
Visited Bryce (my favorite national park).
Hiked to Mossy Cave.
I've stayed home with Grammy and worked on my master's homework. She can't be left home alone and I have a lot of reading to do. My Relief Society president sent me such a sweet gift - flowers that are bath petals. Such a surprise - the best kind.
