Every summer, my parents take their grandchildren that turned 12 that year to Disneyland. Last summer the trip got cancelled because of COVID. Everyone was excited for the trip to take place this summer. Unfortunately, my mother had a series of mini strokes and ended up in the hospital. She still wanted to make things work, but we knew taking care of her was more important than Disney.
My dad stayed with her every day.
I also visited every day.I took some of the kids to see Black Widow, which was awesome.
After the movie, we went to waive to Grammy.
We decided that the 12-year-olds still needed to have their getaway. Tiffani offered to have all the kids at her cabin. Her kids made great plans for lots of adventures, lots of games, and lots of goodies.
I drove Jonny, Ava, and Baylie to Cedar City to meet Tiff and the twins. The road trip was so much fun. These kids are a hoot.We stopped in Beaver for ice cream, cheese curds, and a quick visit with Elder Bartlett.
There was lots of singing going on as well.
We met at the Cedar City temple.
Making their own Mickey ears.
My mom's brother, Del, and his wife Birgitta met us as well. He is 83 years old! It has been years since I last saw him.
Jalen and I headed back to Provo and the kids headed to the cabin. They wasted no time getting down to fun and games.
Then they headed to Bryce Canyon (I think - either that or Cedar Breaks). Both are close to my sister's cabin. I hate heights so these pictures freak me out.
Especiallly this one!

Asher will join them tomorrow and the adventure will continue until Thursday. I'm glad they still get to have a fun getaway.
Best of all, my mom came home today. I'm nervous that she's not ready to leave the hospital, but I'm grateful she's home.
I'm especially grateful that I'm here and not all the way across the country. I love my family so much.
